SESSIONS: - Who Can Make a Video in 10 Minutes? You Can! Presented by Rushton Hurley
"Using an inexpensive camera and simple, free software, anyone can make movies that engage students and improve learning. You’ll learn the basics and leave with good ideas and free resources."
Several of us attended this session. I walked away with some really great information. I have been exploring Windows Movie Maker and have big plans for next year's implementation. Rushton Hurley was a very engaging speaker. -Megan Gordon
-Making the Transition from GarageBand to Logic Pro 8 Presented by Jamie Knight & Jon Kubis
"Learn how you can make the transition from GarageBand to Logic Pro 8, and turn your Mac into an audio workstation for music."
I don't currently have a MAC, however, I'm looking into it. I really enjoyed browsing the program to see how I might use it in my classroom. I enjoyed the first part of the session where they showed a culminating project (a complete song created and recorded in GarageBand), however, the 50 minute lecture that ensued afterwards was a bit dry. I expected this session to be much more hands-on. -Megan Gordon
Integrating Technology Into the Math Curriculum Presented by Paul Devoto
"Come and learn how to get your students excited about math again. Learn how to use simple video based strategies in your every-day routine to inspire and challenge your class!"
This was one of the sessions that I was MOST looking forward to. However, this session took place inside a school bus inside the "Sandbox." This severely restricted the number of people who could attend. In the end less than 50 people were able to attend this session and more than 100 were turned away. I hope that this session is offered again (it is obviously something that people are interested in) but in a much larger location. -Megan Gordon

I have created an online bookmarking login with a bunch of the websites I learned about from the CUE conference. Each bookmark has a description of what can be found there. Please, please take some time to check them out... they are well worth it! Most all of these are WEB 2.0 applications and are open source... meaning free to use and update.
